Hello! My name is Annette Austin and I am a self-published author. I’ve written ten books covering the genres of historical romance, crime fiction and contemporary romance. 

When I was seven, during a class at school, the teacher asked us to write a short story. I remember writing page after page. I let my imagination soar and I realised then how much I loved writing. I would spend hours in the library with my head in one book after another. Not only do I love writing, but I also enjoy reading what other authors produce.

After drifting from one position to the other, I held onto the dream of wanting to write a book. Eventually, I began writing ‘The Fall of the House of James,’ in December 2012. When I lost my job, (a blessing in disguise), I decided to write full-time. Despite having many personal struggles, I finally published the interracial romance novel in June 2018. The historical romance book, ‘The Fall of the House of James,’ spent some time at the Number 1 spot on Amazon (History of Antebellum U.S. Chart.) All six of the books in The James Saga have garnered five-star reviews on Amazon.

Recently, I changed course in my writing career and began to write short stories again under my real name. Two of my short stories, ‘The Bondage Tribe,’ and ‘The Well of Life,’ have been published in the Alternate History and Hidden Realms Short Stories Anthologies by Flame Tree Publishing in 2023.
